Article Submission and Specification Guidelines:
Free Articles 101 is editorially controlled: articles have to be approved by an editor before they go live on our site. There are no guarantees that your articles will be accepted for publication in our directory. It is at our sole discretion whether or not to include your articles. Free Articles 101 reserves the right to remove any articles at any time and for any reason with or without notice or explanation. In cases where the guidelines are abused, authors will be banned.
Before submitting an article, please search the database to ensure your articles have not already been added by someone else. Published articles can be deleted at the author's request.
Article submissions that are plagiarized or in violation of another author's copyright will be removed. Read the section below for more information on our copyright policy.
Articles must provide useful information and not merely be an advertisement. All submissions in the form of advertisements, testimonials or sales pitches will be rejected. If any article seems to be nothing more than an advertisement for a product or website, or only consists of a few lines of text with a link pointing to another site where the article supposedly resides it will be rejected.
Submit your article to one category only; submissions to multiple categories will be rejected. We reserve the right to choose a more suitable category for your articles if we find them to be classified wrongly.
All article submissions must be written in fluent English.
Article Title: Minimum 6 characters and maximum 100 characters. Your title must be relevant to your article and may not contain contact information, your name, business name, any website name or otherwise. Titles must NOT be written in all CAPS. The first letter of each word must be capitalized, excluding common words (optional) like 'the, and, are' unless it is the first word of your title. An example of a perfect title would be: My Perfect Title
Article Summary: This is not a required field, but it will help people find and understand your article more quickly. If you include a summary it should be no more than 4 sentences long and relevant to your article. The first paragraph of your article would be sufficient.
Article Body: Articles must be 400 words minimum not including the summary or author's bio. DO NOT include any HTML in the body of your article, it will be removed during submission and this may adversely affect the layout. We strongly recommend that you copy and paste articles from a basic text editor like Notepad or NoteTab Light. Following this suggestion will ensure that paragraph breaks and other basic formatting will be properly handled by our submission form.
About Author: Up to 400 characters or roughly 60 words. The About box can be used for biographical and copyright information as well as linking to relevant websites. You must include the necessary HTML tags to make any link included here active; simply placing http://www.yoursite.com in the text will not generate a live link.
Copyright and Violations:
Our policy prohibits the use of copyrighted material in a manner that violates the copyright owner's rights. In general, this means that authors should only submit their own original written work to which they have natural copyright.
In cases where copyright is disputed (usually as a result of plagiarism or unauthorized copying), articles will be immediately removed without recourse or discussion, regardless of the arguments presented by the disputing parties.
Copyright resides with the authors who submit to our directory, not with us. As a consequence, Free Articles 101 has no legal standing to enforce copyright on behalf of authors. If a user neglects to follow the Guide for Users, or otherwise violates copywrite, the ultimate responsibility and expense to take any action against that user will rest with the author.
In the event of copyright violation, we advise authors to exercise their rights under the The Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 by taking the following steps:
- Contact the offending party directly asking them to rectify the copyright violation.
- If the above fails, contact
the ISP that hosts the offending website and the domain registrar that holds
the registration for the website domain.
(Information for the domain registrar and hosting service can generally be obtained by doing a lookup using any WhoIs service such as http://www.whois.net.) - Most Domain Registrars and ISPs will respond to a copyright enforcement request by warning or suspending the offending party. If they fail to do so, have a lawyer make the same request in writing. This last action rarely fails to produce results.
