Choosing A Digital Video Recorder With DVD Player

Go Back to... Home » Technology » Electronics »

If you're looking for an accessory to optimize your home theater system's performance consider a digital video recorder with DVD player. These products are marketed under several brand names and can also be rented through some cable companies. A DVR is a device that provides amazing audio sound and a high quality video experience for the cinema buff. If you choose a DVR from your cable company the recorder will be included inside your cable box. This will save room in the design of your home theater system.

Using a built in USB and Ethernet port, a digital video recorder connects easily to your existing home theater system. Weighing a mere 15 pounds or so, a DVR records video in digital format to a hard disk drive. Depending on which model you use it can record as much as 300 hours of television entertainment. DVRs can also record two digital channels simultaneously while you're enjoying another show. The front panel shows you what's being recorded while it's happening even with the power to your television set turned off.

The sharpness and the detail of the original programming is kept exactly as it was by the digital video recorder with DVD player, so that you enjoy your favorite shows ,watching them in the same high quality as they were on the air ,but at your convenient time on your home theater. If there are two favorite shows happening at the same time you need not miss one, as your DVR will grab them both for you. This gives you the advantage of having an outing even though your programs are on air, since you can see them later and will not miss anything. You can even set the DVR one time only to record entire episodes of shows. Thus you have to admit the utility of your home theater system in even saving you cash because you can record shows without having to buy blank recording media.

Along with your home theater system, you can also use a digital video recorder to pause and control live television by rewinding, fast forwarding, or using any one of the other functions that can be performed by the VCR.

Sometimes, newer TVs even have the digital video recorder with DVD player ability built right in. If you need a new TV, consider this option carefully. A television with DVR can save you time and enhance your viewing experience beyond your wildest dreams.
